Welcome to Simsar Stud

We are a small Surrey based private Stud breeding Irish Draught pure and part-bred horses.   This is a fairly new venture for us, we thought long and hard about our new found passion before setting it up as our hobby, along the way we have had some ups and downs but nothing has deterred us from carrying on with our love for breeding pure and part-bred Irish Draught Horses.  We have met and spoken to some wonderful people all being very helpful and knowledgeable, all of these people have been very supportive and we have a lot to thank them for.  Previous to the breeding was a fair share of horses/ponies, some good some bad and some we would sooner forget but  fond memories of all of them if the truth be known. The breeding bug started about 12 years ago.  Having been around and worked with mares and foals for a while it was time to bite the bullet and breed for myself.  A showing friend said she had a mare if I was interested, that was it the bug had bitten.  The mare was a quality TB who had bred some quality show youngsters the Sire an ISH, Tyson was a quality Irish Stallion with such presence and movement, he was also often seen on the Hunting field,  an amazing Stallion who is sadly no longer with us. I wanted to breed myself a hunter, so I agreed to have the mare and so begins the story.   Pilot (so named as it was the name of my Grandads favourite hunter) was shown in Hunter Breeding classes upto the age of three and competed very successfully at County level. As a yearling, Pilot qualified and won at the RIHS 1999. He went on to do well as a two year old, qualifying and being placed fourth at RIHS.   Whoever thought in the future he would go on to do great things.  Lo and behold he went on to qualify for HOYS on two occasions and came 3rd in 2005.   After Pilot came Disko Bay (Joss) also by Tyson out of my first owned TB Broodmare Boots.  Joss is now competing in Dressage and has also been hunting with The Berkeley. THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE A NEW BEGINNING We have been very lucky to date, we have been given and bred some lovely foals and have some super mare foundation stock, the foals that we have bred so far have gone into Showing, Dressage/Eventing and polo, and are all competing at good levels and have been very trainable, with excellent movement and good conformation.   Our original broodmare list comprised of a mix of ex polo TB mares, TB mares off the track and hunter mares.  We are now lucky enough to add the following mares to our foundation stock, Two 3* Advanced Event mares from Meike Weber who Evented both mares Internationally,  Two TB mares one being a HOYS qualified show mare a Hornby Premium RID broodmare, and  we also have two mares  that consist of a AID and an ISH.  So we hope to breed some exceptional horses for both the show ring and Sport horse career.     We have been lucky enough to be able to set up a small private stud in Surrey with thanks to family, friends, and with a few blags along the way.
