Leeds Castle in Kent, we entered the In Hand Hunter class with Boysie (Snowford Farmer's Boy) and Spyder (Cressingham National Silver) there were eight in the class, six three year olds and our two yearlings we were 4th and 5th. They behaved so well and the day was very enjoyable.
Leicester County were we will be taking the boys (Boysie and Spyder) again this time in an Irish Draught only class. Results to follow..... Well that didn't take place for us as Sham decided to have her foal. A stunning dun filly. All went very well and the photo's are around our site for you to look at.
Heathfield District where Simon and myself were the only Irish youngstock to be entered in the class with Boysie and Spyder, so we took 1st and 2nd, Champion and Reserve. So that means that we are now qualified to enter the NFU youngstock class at The Irish Draught Horse Society Breed Show (IDHS) which takes place on the 13th/14th September, at Lincolnshire show ground.
Suffolk County was held on the 29th May, we were in the mixed ID youngstock class, we were 3rd with Boysie and 4th with Spyder, under two 2yr olds. There were six in the class. The judge was Maggie Spreckley, who everybody will know as one of the most influential breeders of the ID horse.
Three Counties we missed as we couldn't get transport.
The Royal 4th July. We were at long last in a yearling class, 1st and reserve with Boysie, and 2nd with Spyder. Their were six entered but only four turned up. We made the trip to the show in a day but never again far to exhausting! Photo's above.
We now have Transport Simon has bought us a lovely horse box, so we are now able to travel far and wide!
The New forest and Hampshire we were in a mixed class with 2&3 year olds including ID sports horses. Their were six in the class and we were down the bottom this time 5th and 6th. Spyder beat Boysie for a change. Lovely show, and the weather managed to hold out. Better luck next year we hope.
Edenbridge and Oxted a mixed class again Boysie was 2nd to a three year old and spyder was 5th six in the class. Good ring size and good weather.
